Saturday morning, June 19th will be The Big Parade, filled with over 300 participants, vehicles and floats. We expect a large crowd and would like to post this quick note to help people plan for the event.
Volunteers: You must report to the high school parking lot at 7:30 sharp to receive your assignments. Parking is available in the back of EHS lot for volunteers only!
Volunteers will be wearing attractive orange vests and name tags and are there to assist you if needed. Please don't yell at them as they are all there to make the day run smoothly. It will help greatly if you know where you are supposed to be and arrive on time. Do understand that there may be traffic delays so plan accordingly.
Marchers: please read and follow the information you received in your packet. There is NO parking available for marchers and you will not be allowed access to enter the high school staging area from Williston Ave. You may drop off marchers on Park St. at the corners of Garfield St., Bryan or Taft Ave. but you may NOT park. Again, only parade vehicles and floats are allowed in the staging areas. If you are delivering materials for the parade, they must be brought in with parade vehicles or floats or walked in.
Note: Easthampton Rod & Gun Club tow vehicle parking is at Galbraith Fields with entry on Taft Ave.
Rest Rooms: will be available in the following locations: Easthampton High School, 50 Payson Ave (Municipal Bldg), the Stone House at Galbraith Fields and at Eastworks Building following the parade.

Opening Ceremonies Draw Hundreds
by easthampton225 on 06/18/10
What a night it was! The 225 celebration kick-off was a huge night for Easthampton. As the growd gathered at the Phillips Stevens Chapel on the grounds of Williston-Northampton school, Samuel and Emily Williston were there to greet everyone...well the giant puppets of the couple were on hand, we should say.
As visitors entered the chapel they were able to view a display of historical prints made possible by Andrea Burns. The prints will make their way to the Ice Cream Social on Friday in case you were not able to join us.
Rep. John Scibak presented a framed copy of the original town charter on behalf of the legislature and a special birthday message was delivered by Mayor Michael Tautznik.
Following the opening speeches the crowd was treated to a beautiful musical evening made possible by the Maple Street School 2nd & 3rd Graders, a festival chorus singing original songs composed by Richard Gregory.
Following the concert everyone joined together on the lawn for birthday cake and ice cream and listened to the sounds of the very talented Easthampton Learning Foundation Band. A special treat for the evening was the introduction of Easthampton's second oldest resident, Esther E. Mesh, 101. Mrs. Mesh honors the city by becoming our Parade Marshal and will ride in The Big Parade Saturday morning beginning at 10:30.
Thank you to all who made this happen - our own 225 committee, our sponsors, the Helping Hand Society and our hosts, Williston-Northampton School.
