Join in the fun for the 225th anniversary and learn how to build and operate a giant 12-foot puppet on June 11th and 12th. Then show off your puppet, marching with your fellow puppeteers in the 225th Anniversary Parade on the morning of Saturday, June 19th.
Friday, June 11th, 6:30 to 10 p.m., at Eastworks
We will start with an introduction, brainstorming, and initial construction session led by renowned puppeteer Beth Nixon. Any design ideas for puppets based on the City’s history are welcome and encouraged!
Saturday, June 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Eastworks
Construction of puppets will continue during an all-day session. Materials will be provided, but bring tools (you will get a list of tools to bring upon registration for the workshop).
Space for the workshop and for storage of the puppets is provided courtesy of Eastworks. Materials are provided courtesy of Manchester Hardware and Fleury Lumber.
